EAW Trench Shield produces a range of aluminium Soldier Sets. Soldier Sets are ideal for working around services or in small excavations, and a minimum of two sets is required when shoring a trench. They are suitable for mini excavators and hand installation.
These units replace conventional timber soldier sets and are seven times stiffer and eight times stronger than F17 hardwood.
If you are using timber soldier sets, remember that the timber should be green hardwood less than three months old. Green timber will not snap under load like dry timber; it bends and makes a noise as it comes under load before breaking, giving advance warning of danger.
